Welcome Earthside, Brigid!
Introducing Brigid Hawn Kelly...with pics!
My baby girl has arrived! Brigid Hawn Kelly was born 5/5 on her Papa’s birthday, weighing 8 pounds even and measuring 21 inches long. She is as sweet and chill as can be and already very attached to her mama!
For those of you who have been following my writing, you know that at 36 weeks pregnant I had a surgery to completely remove an abscess from my bottom and had two very uncomfortable drains installed. I really wasn’t sure if I would be able to have the completely natural birth experience that I have been wanting since 2019.
With a lot of support from my community, I was able to heal well and had the drains removed in time for the birth…and guess what? I had my first completely natural birth experience! Third time’s a charm. I’m recovering well, albeit sleep deprived.
If you’re interested in Brigid’s Human Design, she’s a 3/5 Emotional Manifestor with a Taurus Sun, Capricorn Moon, and Scorpio Rising. What this essentially means is that she’s here to initiate, inspire, and create impact through her energy and presence. I’ll say! I’m captivated by her.
One of the things I love most about Human Design is watching how someone’s life themes begin showing up long before they even arrive earthside. I also experienced this with my other kids, Max and Tallulah.
For example, during the end of this pregnancy, I felt deeply called to do Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, a 12 week program centered around creativity and self expression. Interestingly, Brigid carries the Channel of Inspiration, which is all about creative expression and bringing new things into the world, along with the Channel of Recognition, where creativity is fueled by emotional depth.
Another example of her Human Design playing out was the incredible support I received after surgery. My community rallied around me to make sure I was cared for, nourished, and supported. Fittingly, Brigid also carries the Channel of Community, which is deeply connected to mutual support, resources, and people coming together to care for each other.
Lastly, Brigid’s Incarnation Cross, or overall life theme, is the Cross of the Sphinx, which is deeply connected to direction. She is meant to help both herself and others find clarity around where they are headed and where they want to go. I definitely felt this influence during my pregnancy and did some very deep reflection around my own direction in life. I spent a lot of time reevaluating how I wanted to move forward, and ultimately realized that I wanted to work a little less and mother a little more. I had to move through a lot of shadow and ego while coming to terms with that shift, but it feels like the right direction for me in this time in life.
Anyway, I’m so excited to watch this little girl grow into the powerhouse she already is. And now I can officially say I’m a mom to a Projector, Generator, and Manifestor. I’m slowly checking off all the boxes here!
With love,
Alyssa
